About me and my therapy
I work as an integrative psychotherapist/counsellor that means that I use a number of styles and methods to help you. Some therapists use one style like CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and there are a number of types you can chose from, such as Gestalt therapy as well as many others, all are effective treatments in skilled hands as long as the you feel comfortable with it.
I work both as an online therapist and in my local area with face to face therapy.
I have been trained to use a number of different approaches to help you, I work mainly within psycho dynamic theory and also use other elements such as CBT, or Gestalt therapy and Hypnotherapy along with arts therapy.
My experience has shown me that your problem can’t be solved by just reading text books or any therapy training, that’s because you are an individual person in your own right and any help and support has to be based on your needs at that particular moment in time.
As a team we can work towards finding solutions based on your emotional needs that enable you to take control and influence a change in your life for the better, we will be working towards you finding a better understanding and emotional balance, at a pace that you find able to safely manage.

What makes a good therapist?
You can find any number of articles all portraying to have the answer, why is it so difficult to find a straight answer?
Well I think that it depends on your perspective of therapy and what you expect from it. The real answer in my humble opinion is dependant on what you need from a therapist and what that person can do for you.
When looking for a counsellor or other therapist it is important to look for a number of important criteria.
make sure the therapist has relevant training and is a member of an organisation.
Don’t feel that you have to say yes there and then, shop around a while and take some time to choose one that feels right for you.

Talk to a therapist first before paying any money, or set up a meeting to see if they meet your needs, the first consultation should always be free to allow for this,if its not free ask why?
Some times we just need someone to listen and allow us the time to express our thoughts and feelings in an honest and non judgemental way.
